Since the last Windows update and after a reboot , all of my Microsoft Office 7 icons have disappeared.
This includes the icons within the program folder. I tried using a restore point to recover the icons without success. During the restore point process, the restore program showed a message stating Webroot SecureAnywhere software would be affected.
Because the above process didn't work, I looked for and found instructions to rebuild the icon cache, but again I was unsuccessful. I can't seem to find the icons that represent various programs, i. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can rebuild the Microsoft Office icon set without re-installing Office? I can't seem to find my Program DVD.

I'm afraid of rebuilding the icon cache as I had issue with Win 10 update, my machine happened to be incompatible with update and froze for 11 hours. I had the same problem as described above.
The registry has references to these folders for the icons images and if you have any utilities that have deleted these files or folders, the icons will not appear correctly.
I restored these folders e. EXE, etc. Now go to Start and then for each program that should now show in start menu with the actual Microsoft Office icon , right click and select "Pin to Taskbar". You can then Remove each one from the Start Menu if you wish by right clicking again and selecting "Remove from this List".
Then right click and select "Pin to Start Menu" not to Taskbar. Do this for each program you want to eventually make it onto your Taskbar.
Your icons should now be back to their original format. I've rebooted my system several times so far and the icons have remained. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
